Harris and Turani appointed to senior financial roles as Bahraini smelter nears completion of Line 6 Expansion Project
Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), which plans to become the world's largest aluminium smelter following the full ramp-up of its $3bn (BHD1.1bn) Line 6 Expansion project, has promoted Bryan Harris as its chief financial officer, with Khalid Turani made chief internal audit and risk management officer.
Alba said in a statement that Harris has more than 25 years of experience in management roles, and joined the smelter in 2009 as its chief internal auditor and risk officer.
Harris, who was appointed acting CFO in December 2018, serves as a director on the boards of Alba subsidiaries Alba US and Albacap Insurance.
Meanwhile, Turani has 19 years of experience in audit, risk, compliance, and ethics operations, and joined Alba in 2010 as a senior internal auditor.
Commenting on the promotions, Alba’s acting chief executive officer, Ali Al Baqali, said: “As we near the completion of Line 6 Expansion Project and prepare for further growth, these management changes will complement our company's strategic priorities.”
