AECOM appoints Ben Agyekum as director & head of PCC in Saudi

Agyekum moves to Saudi Arabia to take up the new role within the firm after living in the UK for 25 years

New York Stock Exchange-listed (NYSE) American engineering firm, AECOM, has named Ben Agyekum as the director and head of Program Cost Consultancy (PCC) at AECOM Arabia, the Saudi Arabian arm of the Los Angeles-based firm.

As part of the promotion, Agyekum will lead over 100 members of staff within AECOM Arabia’s cost consultancy business.

Prior to his new role within the firm, Agyekum was the business unit lead for commercial and retail developments in the UK and a member of the London Commercial Leadership Board within AECOM.

A 28-year veteran in the real estate and construction industry in the UK and internationally, Agyekum has experience in feasibility cost planning, procurement, and value engineering.

Agyekum has worked on projects including Liverpool One in the UK, and other mixed-use developments including commercial offices, residential, retail, and leisure.

Speaking on Agyekum’s promotion to the new role, operations director at AECOM Arabia, Rick Hopper, said: “This move from the UK to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will allow Ben to contribute to the Crown Prince’s 2030 vision to transform the Kingdom’s physical, social and economic infrastructure by building key relationships with clients and delivering excellence across the Middle East.

"Not only will this generate a number of opportunities across the region but also create future opportunities for generations to come.”

Commenting on his appointment and relocation, Agyekum, said: “Having lived the in UK for 25 years, moving to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to be part of a national vision that will create a legacy for the country is an exciting opportunity. I look forward to working with the AECOM Arabia team, collaborating with key clients across the Middle East and enhancing business growth.”
