Galfar names Abdullah Saif Al Hosni as CFO after former head exits
Al Hosni, who has previously worked with firms including Omantel and Omran, will start his work effective from 16 August, 2020
Omani contractor Galfar Engineering and Contracting has named Abdullah Saif Al Hosni as the chief financial officer, replacing his predecessor Anantha Subramanian.
Subramanian had resigned from the role in March 2020, due to health reasons. The former CFO was appointed in January 2018, following the resignation of its then CFO Gerard Hutchinson in September 2017.
In a stock market filing undersigned by Hamoud Rashid Ali Al Tobi, who was named the CEO of Galfar in May this year, the company said that Al Hosni’s appointment will be effective from 16 August, 2020.
Al Hosni has an experience of more than 21 years working across roles in finance at Omantel and Omran. A graduate in accounting from Sultan Qaboos University, Al Hosni is a qualified Chartered Accountant from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in the UK.
Galfar secured a tender from the Ministry of Transport for the construction of Part 4 of the dualisation of the Adam-Thumrait Road Project covering a length of 135-kilometres. The contract is valued at $298.7m (OMR0115m).
Additionally, the contract will be completed in the next three years, in addition to the three months that will be required for mobilisation activities.
