Matthew Sudich, a postgraduate student studying real estate management and development at Heriot Watt University, has received the inaugural ‘Best Overall Student Performance in Real Estate’ award during CoreNet Global’s Middle East Chapter event at the Capital Club in Dubai International Financial Centre.

Presented by co-chairs Elliot Lewis and Nick Hughes, CoreNet Global’s Middle East Chapter sponsored the award, which has been introduced to recognise the academic achievement of students engaged in the programme, as well as functioning to develop links into professional organisations and the property industry, to ensure that organisations can better engage with students.

“The Masters degree programmes in real estate at Heriot-Watt University’s Dubai Campus are continually seeking new opportunities to collaborate with recognised and well-respected industry stakeholders,” said Michael Waters, assistant professor in real estate, Heriot-Watt University. “The introduction of the CoreNet Global Award for Best Performing Student in MSc Real Estate Management & Development in 2013 allows me to formally reward the hard work and achievements of our top-performing students.”

“Awards and prizes are just one way of linking our high-quality graduates to work placements and new employment opportunities,” Waters added. “I am grateful to the CoreNet Middle East Chapter for such an important collaboration, one that will significantly enhance future advances and thought-leadership within corporate real estate in Dubai, the UAE and wider Middle East region.”

Elliot Lewis, GE and CoreNet Global, said: “Our congratulations to Matthew for his success in this award programme, which recognised the outstanding achievements of real estate students in the region. We are pleased to be supporters and sponsors of this important initiative.”

The RICS accredited postgraduate degree programme at Heriot-Watt University represents a UK postgraduate conversion course for those seeking a professional entry route into becoming a chartered surveyor in valuation, property management, development and research/advisory roles.
