Saudi Arabia’s the Red Sea Development Company (TRSDC) – formed as the developer of the kingdom’s 28,000km2 The Red Sea Project, announced by HRH Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence of Saudi Arabia, and chairman of the kingdom's Public Investment Fund (PIF) in late July 2017 — will offer 120 scholarships to under-graduate students for the academic year 2019-20.

According to information published on TRSDC’s website for the programme, the last date for students – who must be aged 17 and above – that wish to join the programme is 5 September, 2019.

TRSDC’s scholarship programme — which comes with a possibility of job opportunities being offered to these students in The Red Sea Project or one of its companies upon graduation — has been organised in cooperation with Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz University and École Hôtelière de Lausanne.

The programme extends for four years plus an additional preparative year, and offers an integral curriculum about the hospitality industry, management theories, and applied business projects, in line with Swiss and international standards in the hospitality and tourism sectors.

Speaking about the scholarship programme, chief of staff at TRSDC, Ahmed Ghazi Darwish, said that the firm aimed to contribute to the kingdom’s rapid development in the education sector through the creation of job opportunities through the programme, Arab News reported.
