Saudi Arabia’s gigaproject NEOM, alongwith Misk Academy, which is led by Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Foundation has launched the“ SPARK” programme that aims at training entrepreneurs in the Kingdom, who plan on starting their businesses to develop the skills required.
The programme, which extends for a period of six weeks, provides intensive training and vocational guidance for trainees.
Over the course of the programmes, participants would go through different stages designed with highest standards for the success of projects. These include learning how to build a successful business strategy, and how to present projects in a professional way to attract investors.
Saudi Press Agency reported that the programme aims to increase the number of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that contribute to improving and diversifying production sources in line with Saudi Vision 2030. This will help to increase the percentage of contributing enterprises to the gross domestic product (GDP), and accelerate the economic transformation.
The cooperation between NEOM and the Misk Academy will enable the launch of a set of educational and development initiatives and programmes, which will contribute to achieving investment in the human capital and supporting the non-oil sector.
Through the programme, participants will be able to present their projects to the arbitration committee consisting of representatives from NEOM, Misk Academy, and Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority (Monshaat).
Upon completion participants will receive a bronze SPARK certificate, and additionally the ten best presentations will get an opportunity to present their projects to the arbitration committee, following which they will be rewarded with the silver SPARK certificate.
Meanwhile, the five best presentations will receive Gold SPARK certificates, in addition to financial rewards, and media coverage to help them promote their projects.
