A repeat entrant in the Construction Week Power 100 list, Reed Smith Middle East's managing partner, Sachin Kerur, who has driven the growth of the company, comes in at rank 79 in the year's ranking.

In the past twelve months, Reed Smith Middle East witnessed growth of its construction practice to be one of the strongest in the region as well as marked progress of its industry groups including Energy and Resources, Global Corporate Disputes, Corporate and Banking, and Finance.

In his role at Reed Smith Middle East, Kerur led the implementation of an additional industry group with the Employment Group on the back of increasing demand for employment services, particularly from construction services. Owing to this rapid recent growth, revenue projections for the year have been consistently well above the company’s 2019 figures.

The company experienced rapid expansion and growth in 2019, and has identified 2020 as a “year of development” with majority of its projects stemming from Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia.

In September 2019, Reed Smith Middle East shifted operations to a larger state office in the Dubai International Financial Centre, further renewing its growth in the region. The new office aims to enhance the working environment for the team and comprises meeting rooms, breakout spaces and an innovation hub.

Marking the start of the several events hosted in relation to female empowerment, the company launched the Middle East version of its global Women’s Initiative Network in the UAE in November 2019. In addition, it has also launched community sports programmes, pro-bono legal support initiatives and diversity and inclusion programmes to enhance its standing and involvement with the regional business and social communities.

Reed Smith Middle East has effectively responded to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic by maintaining its key focus on clients’ support through legal and practical aspects. The company has also been involved in advising clients on the resequencing of projects as well as the restructuring of businesses impacted by recent events.

The firm’s key projects in the past 12 months include major civil engineering and commercial projects across the region as well as increased workflow in the clean energy sector.
