Property management company Asteco has launched a digital vendor management portal that will allow registered users to apply for requests for proposals as required by building owners, and complements other software released by Asteco for property management, human resources, and enterprise resource planning (ERP).

Asteco added it expected the portal to streamline its procurement process, including activities such as supplier selection and contract award.

Vendors will be allowed to submit supporting documents and references to allow for qualitative assessments to be implemented ahead of contract awards.

In a statement, managing director, John Stevens, said Asteco’s vendor portal was designed in-house and “built from the ground up” based on user requirements.

Stevens added: “For companies, it will ensure that the goods and services they have on offer are visible to all our property managers, which are working to service almost 500 managed properties across the UAE.

“Whilst we have looked at purchasing software platforms from specialist providers, on many occasions we have found it more efficient to develop our own software rather than customising an existing platform.”
