Abu Dhabi’s Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) announced that its surface parking bays in the emirate would be free to use on Islamic New Year, 1 Muharram 1441 Hijri — expected to fall on 1 September, 2019 — which will be observed as a public holiday in the UAE.

In a statement, ITC said that all its customer happiness centre in Abu Dhabi would also remain closed, adding that people must adhere to its regulations for resident permit parking bays.

Bus services in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra, as well as intercity route buses, will operate as usual.

In Dubai, the Roads and Transport Authority has declared free parking across the emirate, except at the multi-level parking terminals, on the Islamic New Year holiday.
