Germany-headquartered Siemens has entered a partnership with Danish pump manufacturer Grundfos to collaborate on products and systems for water and wastewater applications, industrial automation, and building technology.

Commenting on the need for combined competencies, member of Siemens AG's managing board and chief executive officer of Siemens' digital industries business, Klaus Helmrich, said: “Our Mind Spher open cloud-based [internet of things] operating system, combined with Grundfos's IoT solutions, can optimise pump and motor schedules in order to maximise uptime and minimise energy consumption.”

CEO of Grundfos, Mads Nipper, added: “Our purpose is to pioneer solutions that contribute to solving the world’s water and climate challenges. To live up to that purpose, we are on a major digital transformation journey to supplement our pump solutions business by also becoming a digital solution and service provider. Partnering with Siemens is a big step in this direction.”
