Serco ME wins contract to deliver FM services at The Galleria mall
Five-year contract includes maintenance of infra systems, operational elements, and delivery of core support services
Facilities management (FM) company Serco Middle East announced that it will provide infrastructure and FM solutions for The Galleria mall on Abu Dhabi’s Al Maryah Island, as part of a five-year contract to handle the maintenance of existing and expanded assets, comprising a range of services from specialist infrastructure systems to operational elements such as security and valet services.
The mall, which offers more than 1.8km2 of leasable space, is the result of a collaboration between Gulf Related – a joint venture between Gulf Capital and Related Companies – and Mubadala Real Estate and Infrastructure (MREI).
As the key delivery partner, Serco ME will deliver all core support services related to the development, spanning 270 indoor and outdoor shops, 70 dining areas, and housing entertainment options such as cinemas, urban parks and children’s play areas.
Commenting on the five-year contract, managing director for Integrated Services at Serco Middle East, Edward Gallagher, said: “To support the expansion of The Galleria, we have provided innovative solutions to the challenges presented by such a high-footfall space, and through a mix of innovative technology and Serco’s global know-how, have deployed an operation, which from Day One has delivered a vibrant, clean, and safe environment for hundreds of thousands of visitors.”
