Empower completes $40.8m cooling project at Cityland Mall
Empower will offer 14,000RT of district cooling services to Cityland Mall, which will feature more than 350 retail outlets
Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world’s largest district cooling services provider, announced that it has completed all the stages to provide district cooling services to Cityland Mall, at Dubai’s Global Village, with an investment of $40.8m (AED150m) and a cooling capacity of 14,000RT.
Cityland Mall will feature more than 350 retail outlets, unique dining options, a variety of entertainment offerings, and an 18.58km2 ‘Central Park’ botanical garden that will form the centre of the single-storey circular-shaped mall.
Commenting on the completion of the project, chief executive officer of Empower, Ahmad Bin Shafar said: “We are happy to be working for this huge project and providing it with environmentally-friendly district cooling services. This reflects the cognizance of developers and customers on the importance of sustainability and environmental conservation. The use of district cooling services in major projects contributes to reducing carbon emissions from energy consumption.”
Empower provides district cooling services to more than 1,090 buildings; caters to more than 100k customers; and operates more than 1.43m RT, providing environmentally friendly district cooling services to large-scale real estate developments, such as Bluewaters, Jumeirah Group, Business Bay, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai International Financial Centre, Palm Jumeirah, Jumeirah Lake Towers, Ibn Battuta Mall, Discovery Gardens, Dubai Healthcare City, Dubai World Trade Centre Residences and Dubai Design District, and International Media Production Zone, among others.
