Dewa extends utility services, payments to Huawei store
Customers can now activate, de-activate DEWA connections, as well as pay bills and request clearance certificates in fewer steps
The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has launched its smart app on the Huawei store, which combines several steps of its smart services and payments options, as well as providing customers an enhanced experience with reduced hassle in searching and browsing.
When customers log in to the enhanced smart app on the Huawei store, they can view all of DEWA’s services, including the activation of electricity/water (or move-in services), de-activation of electricity/water (or move-out services), bills payment, green charger card, request for a clearance certificate, deposit refund, and other services.
The intiative is in line with the Dubai government’s directives to transform the emirate into a fully digital and paperless government by the end of 2021.
Smart adoption of DEWA’s services has reached 94%, the government entity said in a statement.
Commenting on the launch, the managing director and chief executive officer of DEWA, HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, said: “The strategic partnership with Huawei, which is a global leader in telecommunications and information technology, has resulted in many important achievements supporting DEWA’s efforts to achieve promising government strategies to make customers happy.”
The executive vice president of Innovation and the Future at DEWA, Marwan bin Haidar, said: “Our smart app on Huawei store will encourage our customers to use their smartphones to facilitate transactions and shorten the time and effort needed.”
