Emicool expands district cooling services to eight sectors in 2019
The district cooling service provider’s pipeline network crossed a total linear length of more than 240km in 2019
Dubai-based Emirates District Cooling (Emicool), which is a fully owned subsidiary of Dubai Financial Market-listed Dubai Investments, has extended its district cooling services to 2,200 buildings across eight sectors in the UAE in 2019.
Emicool has expanded to buildings in diversified sectors such as residential, retail, commercial buildings, hotels, schools, universities, hospitals, furnished apartments, as well as industrial and labour accommodations.
The district cooling service provider’s pipeline network crossed a total linear length of more than 240km in 2019, which demonstrates an increase of 38% over the last five years.
Emicool’s growth is also evidence of increasing demand for climate-resilient, resource-efficient, low-carbon, and affordable solutions within the UAE’s residential and commercial projects.
Commenting on the firm’s sectoral expansion and the resulting increase in its pipeline network, the chief executive officer of Emicool, Dr Adib Moubadder, said: “District cooling is fast gaining traction as an alternative cooling solution in response to its contributions aimed at environmental conservation, reducing carbon emissions and 40% of grid electricity needs as compared to conventional cooling systems.”
Moubadder added: “The diversity of Emicool’s customer base and the key sectors served is testimony to increasing investments toward infrastructure development coupled with growing demand for reliable and cost-efficient cooling systems, driving the cooling market.”
With the current total operating capacity of 355,000 RT from the plant within DIP and MotorCity, Emicool provides district cooling services to DIP, Dubai Motor City, Dubai Sports City, Uptown Mirdif, Palazzo Versace, Damac Hills, and Mirdiff Hills, among other areas.
