UAE’s RAK Porcelain inks MoU with Expo 2020 Luxembourg Pavilion
RAK Porcelain will be the the exclusive supplier of sanitary, ceramic coverings, and tableware for the Luxembourg Pavilion
UAE-based RAK Porcelain – a tableware manufacturer and supplier for the hospitality industry, and a part of the RAK Ceramics Group – has partnered with Expo 2020 Dubai Luxembourg Pavilion as the exclusive supplier of sanitary, ceramic coverings, and tableware for the pavilion, which will be located within the Opportunity District of the 4.38km2 Expo site.
RAK Porcelain is also one of the ‘Diamond Sponsors’ of the Luxembourg Pavilion, which is expected to contribute in “cash and kind”.
In a general partnership agreement – inked by the director of Ecole d’Hôtellerie et de Tourisme du Luxembourg (EHTL), Michel Lanners; the director of international sales, marketing, and communication at RAK Porcelain Europe, Sven Bodry; and the director of administration and finance at RAK Porcelain Europe SA, Mariella Di Giambattista – the manufacturer has also agreed to extend its cooperation to include exchange of knowledge.
Commenting on the long-term five year partnership, Bodry said: “We are going to open schools for porcelain and hospitality, where we will show how porcelain manufacturing and production works.”
The Luxembourg Pavilion stated in a presentation that RAK Porcelain’s exchange of knowledge woud include the participation of one student, two teachers, and a member of the management per training cycle on the Arts de La Table. Visits to production sites will also be part of the knowledge transfer.
The Expo 2020 Dubai Luxembourg pavilion also inked a memorandum of understanding with Dubai-based Jumeirah Hospitality, which will be responsible for the full-range of catering services on offer at the pavilion, including the operation of the a Schengen Lounge restaurant within the pavilion.
