E-link between Saudi ministries enables real estate deeds in minutes
Previously, the owners had to wait between one to four months for the issuance of real estate deeds for megaprojects
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Housing have announced an electronic link between the two ministries that will permit for requests regarding real estate units to be received electronically rather paper transactions within the kingdom.
The initiative complements the agreements signed by the Saudi Minister of Justice, HE Sheikh Dr Walid bin Muhammad Al-Samaani, and the Saudi Minister of Housing, Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, to improve the quality of services and to screen real estate units electronically.
The electronic link mechanism will enable real estate deeds to be issued in minutes after the required uploads are complete. Previously, the issuance of real estate deeds took several months, with owners of megaprojects having to wait between one to four months for their real estate deeds.
According to the state-run Saudi Press Agency, the screening records of real estate units will be sent through an electronic link from the Ministry of Housing screening system to the real estate wealth system, which then reaches the beneficiary following a text message that reaches the notary public, who issues the instrument directly and electronically.
The Ministry of Housing also offers a service to sort real estate units, through which a building or real estate complex can be divided into several real estate units; information about the real estate unit and its quorum of the land area can be determined; and the common parts of the property and the rights of use can be clarified.
