Emerson will leverage its digital programmes, software, and analytics to help SABIC align with Saudi Vision 2030 goals
New York Stock Exchange-listed automation and technology engineering company Emerson has inked a seven-year strategic agreement with Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) to help the petrochemical manufacturer successfully adopt digital transformation programmes and optimise operations.
Emerson will serve as the preferred automation services and technologies provider to SABIC, as the petrochemical manufacturer aligns its goals with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 by focusing on localisation, strategic partnerships, knowledge transfer, and leveraging the strategic and operational capabilities of the organisations involved in achieving operational excellence.
The alliance targets value creation through improved safety and reliability, as well as the creation of business and revenue opportunities.
Emerson will leverage its Project Certainty and Operational Certainty programmes; comprehensive Plantweb™ digital ecosystem portfolio; software and analytics; as well as other automation technologies and services ranging from control systems, measurement instrumentation, and final control portfolio.
Commenting on the agreement, SABIC GPS general manager, Abdullah Al-Garni, said: “As SABIC is continuously racing to enhance and move operations toward excellence, I’m happy and proud to establish such a strategic partnership with Emerson, which will definitely be a big part in this transformation journey.”
