While the organisers of the Expo 2020 Dubai are in talks for a possible postponement of the event's commencement due to the COVID-19 outbreak, officials are undertaking regular sanitisation activities on site, as due diligence.
The Expo 2020 Dubai is playing a crucial part in the UAE National Disinfection Programme, which has now extended to 5 April, and includes nation-wide sanitisation, sterilisation and disinfection operations to counter the novel coronavirus.
The authorities have joined forces with Dulsco, ADNH, Emrill, EFS, Farnek, Enova, and Dubai Municipality, to carry out sanitisation activities on-site, ensuring use of Dubai Health Authority (DHA) approved anti-viral disinfectants for its operations.
The operations cover key areas across the site such as Expo Village, Expedition Park, Expo Dubai South Mall, and participating country pavilions.
The sanitisation activities are carried out by a team of 1,000 cleaning staff members.
