Sharjah Airports intensifies sterilisation operations

Sharjah Airport Authority is enhancing sterilisation throughout its facilities and on airport equipment

Sharjah Airport Authority (SAA) has implemented enhanced sterilisation procedures across its airport facilities, as part of its ongoing precautionary measures to curb the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak.

As part of its sanitisation operations, SAA is carrying out sterilisation and disinfection procedures throughout the airport's facilities including the Arrivals and Departures halls; Department of Civil Aviation Sharjah and Sharjah Airport Management building; meeting rooms; corridors; gates and offices; Cargo Centre and all its facilities; warehouses, handling areas, all the offices, including exports and imports receptions.

SAA is also implementing sterilisation measures on planes and in airport lounges.

In addition, the operations include sterilising and disinfecting equipment used by passengers and staff.

Speaking about the Sharjah Airport Authority's sterilisation efforts, chairman, HE Ali Salim Al Midfa, said: “The health and safety of passengers and customers is our top priority. Since the emergence of the coronavirus, the authority has developed an integrated plan to cope with the emergency, in compliance with global health standards."
