Abu Dhabi's ZonesCorp hosts COVID-19 workshop

UAE purpose-built economic zones operator, ZonesCorp, has strengthened its precautionary measures to counter the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak at its workers residential cities.

As part of its ongoing efforts, ZonesCorp collaborated with the Department of Health - Abu Dhabi (DoH), to host a COVID-19 awareness workshop for the workers across companies and industrial establishments based in its economic zones, UAE's state-run news agency Wam reported. 

In addition, ZonesCorp established quarantine facilities within designated clusters, for workers from outside the country, as well as implemented disinfection procedures at residential cities and in the buses, which are used to transport workers to and from the cities. 

ZonesCorp hosts 30 workers residential cities with a total capacity of 420,000 workers. The cities cater to 880 industrial and commercial establishments operating across industries including oil, automotive, food, pharmaceuticals, and building materials.

The workers are currently undergoing regular health screening; all residential complexes are fitted out with thermal detection devices and sterilisation equipment, in the interest of public safety.
