COVID-19: Dubai’s PCLA conducts awareness campaigns for workers
The campaigns were conducted by PCLA teams for 500 companies at their labour accommodation sites and workplaces
Dubai's Permanent Committee of Labour Affairs (PCLA) has conducted awareness campaigns for workers, drivers, and supervisors across 500 companies, as part of its efforts to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
The committee has also distributed COVID-19 awareness guides and pamphlets published in various languages, including Arabic, Urdu, Hindi, and English. These guidelines included information on COVID-19 including the transmission and spread of the virus, and precautions that need to be taken to 'flatten the curve', and prevent the further spread of the pandemic.
Through this initiative, PCLA aims to encourage individuals to commit to hygienic practices and preventative measures in order to combat the pandemic.
Additionally, the PCLA team also distributed hygiene kits to the workers residing in the accommodation buildings.
According to PCLA, the campaign targeted companies across Dubai including their labour accommodation sites and workplaces.
Commenting on the initiative chairman of PCLA, Major General Obaid Muhair bin Surour said that the committee has been ensuring that individuals working in Dubai were provided with the best working and living conditions to ensure their safety amid the pandemic.
As part of the campaign, PLCA teams carried out field visits to workers accommodations from 15 March 2020.
