Arada donates 1,000 laptops to facilitate distance learning
The UAE real estate developer joined forces with IT company HP Inc. to enable the delivery of laptops
UAE real estate developer Arada has collaborated with IT company HP Inc. to facilitate the delivery of 1,000 laptops to Sharjah-based students to support distance learning.
The move is part of Arada's slew of initiatives to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Arada's Aljada community's support package involves a contribution to the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA)’s ‘For Knowledge We Join Hands’ initiative.
The initiative is structured to assist thousands of students in Sharjah who have been unable to afford the equipment necessary to take part in the distance learning schemes that have been mandated by local authorities in the UAE.
Speaking about the initiative, chairman of Arada, HE Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, said: "Our joint efforts with HP will help students make the most of their classes. It’s our responsibility to help enable all students, no matter their background, to continue their education during these incredibly challenging times.”
The developer's recent efforts in response to the ongoing pandemic include the implementation of sanitation gates to Sharjah's emergency services as well as provision of free meals to healthcare workers at Sharjah hospitals, Construction Week previously reported.
