DEWA launches a virtual reality studio, self-service kiosks for staff
The VR studio offers simulations for first aid, fire and safety, and provides information on DEWA’s projects and services
The managing director and chief executive officer of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, has inaugurated a virtual reality studio and employee self-service kiosk at the DEWA Academy.
The virtual reality studio offers simulations for first aid, fire and safety, and provides information on DEWA’s projects, strategies, and services to employees and customers.
The self-service kiosks provide HR services such as salary certificates, pay-slips, and more. Fifteen such kiosks are now spread across DEWA’s head office and its other buildings in Jebel Ali, Hatta, Al Warsan, Al Quoz, Al Hudaiba, Ruwayyah, and the DEWA Academy.
The virtual reality studio and the self-service kiosks also support DEWA’s ‘My Portal’ and ‘Smart Office’, which offer smart digital services. They enable staff to work remotely, enhance their experience and skills, and help them obtain internal approvals easily.
Al Tayer said: “We strive to support and develop our human resources to achieve the best performance possible, increase their loyalty, and ensure the highest levels of professionalism in services provided to our customers.”
DEWA has continued to develop state-of-the-art digital infrastructure and qualifies its staff to take decisive roles across its divisions, with training and development programmes, according to the highest international standards.
“DEWA is committed to the latest systems, multimedia tools, and best practices in occupational health and safety, to reach the highest levels of quality and excellence. This is through constant training, exchanging knowledge, and shared experience,” Al Tayer added.
