Saudi Arabia's Safa 28 residential project gets ABB's EV chargers
The Swiss-Swedish firm will provide two kinds of chargers for the residential project, which will be installed within 12 weeks
Swiss Six- and New York Stock Exchange-listed ABB, touted as the world leader in electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure has supplied EV chargers to Saudi Arabia-based Safa Investment Company’s Safa 28 residential project.
The Safa 28 residential project is located at Al Nada and Al Qairwan areas in Riyadh, which will feature 140 housing units within 10 buildings and later expand to 921 buildings.
In a statement, ABB said that it will be providing two kinds of chargers for the residential project, which will be installed within 12 weeks.
These include, 13 ‘AC Terra Single Phase 7.4kW’ units, which will be installed in the basement of the buildings for the apartments and four ‘AC Terra Three Phases 22kW’ units with metering function and radio frequency identification (RFID) cards, which will be installed for the villas.
It is the first residential charger project for ABB in Saudi Arabia, which has previously supplied three 50KW Fast DC chargers.
Speaking about the supply contract, ABB’s local business manager in Saudi Arabia, Ahmad Alhussein said: “The most convenient place to charge your car is in the home. ABB offers easy to install EV chargers for the home, with all the components needed for smart home integration available from a single, trusted supplier.”
“ABB home chargers are integrated with safety features for the protection of people and their electric vehicles,” he added.
