Al-Jazirah Vehicles Agencies Company (AJVA), the dealer of American firm Ford Trucks in Saudi Arabia, has delivered 100 units of 2019 model 6x4 Ford vehicles to Makkah-based contractor Saad Saeed Al-Saadi & Sons Company, marking its largest delivery to date in the kingdom.
According to a statement, the trucks – once fitted out with dumpers – will be used in “major road construction projects” that will add roughly one million kilometres of roads in various regions throughout the kingdom.
A ceremony celebrating the delivery of trucks was held at the Arabian Metal Industries headquarters, the site of the dumpers' manufacturing.
Speaking on the news, Mohammed Bin Abdullah Al-Kareedis, AJVA’s deputy chief executive officer, said: “To date, these trucks have been deployed to work in airports, residential complexes, roadworks, cleaning and maintenance, and many other projects in cities such as Riyadh, Qatif, Najran, Tabuk, and Hail, in cooperation with our partners in the private sector.”
Based out of the Makkah, contractor Saad Saeed Al Saadi & Sons has implemented infrastructure development projects, including roadworks, rock cutting and demolition-related work, in the kingdom.
Commenting on the Ford trucks, Saad Al-Saadi, chairman of the contracting firm, said: “The new trucks will be used in our roadworks projects [...] covering the regions of Abha, Qassim, Makkah, Al-Jumoum, and Al-Kharamah.”
According to ProTenders, the contractor has worked as excavation contractor on Thaker City in Mekkah, which includes 97 towers over a development area of 30ha.
