Nasdaq Stockholm-listed Swedish industrial firm Epiroc has been picked by India’s Hindustan Zinc (HZL) to equip the latter’s Rampura Agucha mine, located on a sulfide deposit in the Bhilwara district of Rajasthan, with the Mobilaris Mining Intelligence (MMI) system.

A subsidiary of London-headquartered Vedanta Resources, HZL has adopted the intelligent mining platform to drive operational efficiencies onsite.

MMI offers situational awareness; short-interval control, including machine data integration; and traffic awareness intelligence.

Commenting on the development, chief executive office of HZL, Sunil Duggal, said: “The partnership with Epiroc will support our direction to develop safer and more productive operations at Rampura Agucha Mine.

“We are continuously making efforts to develop better, connected and intelligent mines,” added Duggal.
