Dubai Crown Prince offers condolences to firefighter’s family

Dubai Civil Defense serviceman lost his life while trying to put out a construction fire in Business Bay

HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council offered his condolences to the family of First Corporal Tariq Abdullah Ali Al Hawai, a Dubai Civil Defense (DCD) firefighter who succumbed to his injuries while trying to extinguish a fire that started at an under-construction building in Business Bay.

On his official Twitter handle, the Dubai Crown Prince wrote: “I extend my deepest condolences to the family of firefighter Tariq Abdullah Al Hawai, who died on duty while working alongside his civil defense colleagues to extinguish a fire in a building in the Business Bay area.”

In a separate tweet, he said: “The sacrifices of our civil defense servicemen will remain immortal in the memory of our homeland and Tariq will remain a symbol of self-sacrifice for the security of our country and its people. May Allah have mercy on him and grant patience to his family and loved ones.”

According to a statement released by DCD on its Facebook page, the firefighter fell from a gap in the ceiling of the building's fourth floor.
