Dubai Airports rolls out Realtime DXB to boost situational awareness
Cloud-based platform will be used by Dubai Airports to monitor operations and visualise traffic flow at DXB
Dubai Airports, the operator of Dubai International Airport (DXB), has rolled out Realtime DXB, a cloud-based platform that will be used to monitor operations at DXB and visualise traffic flow at the world’s busiest airport.
The newly launched platform gathers data generated by more than 50 operational systems run by Dubai Airports and its service partners, the operator said in a statement.
The use of real-time information and advanced smart gates helped Dubai Airports reduce customer wait-times by 30% in Q1 2019.

Phase 1 of the system will focus on situational awareness of the airfield, wherein it will monitor and visualise activities such as aircraft and vehicle movement, the status of aircraft stands, flight data information, and processes related to arrivals, turnaround, and departure.
Commenting on the launch of the platform, vice president of Dubai Airports' airport operations control centre, Damian Ellacott, said: “Realtime DXB is a major step forward in our journey to develop common situational awareness.”
