Kuwait is turning to galvanised steel.

Galvanised steel is reportedly seeing rapid uptake for construction projects in Kuwait, in part due to its advantages in terms of cost and durability – estimated to be in the range of 60-80% – as compared to regular steel.

According to a report by Kuwait's state news agency, Kunagalvanised steel was also being used for the revamp of old homes with weak foundations.

Speaking to Kuna, local architect, Issa Al Hajab, said the use of galvanised steel was a relatively recent trend in Kuwait, and was finding popularity in the home construction segment.

Hamad Al-Enzi, chief executive officer of a Kuwaiti construction company, told Kuna that galvanised steel was also being preferred for its ability to reduce human error, as well as its longevity.
