Al Dobowi’s chairman Surender Singh Kandhari has declared that there are no bad tyres in the international market and predicted incoming regulation will benefit budget tyres.
Speaking at last week’s Automechanika event Singh said that changes to European standards, which will see all tyres classified by their quality into bands between A to G, means that there will be a level playing field between budget tyres and big global brands such as Goodyear and Bridgestone.
Singh added that tyre producers in the emerging markets can now compete on quality as well as price.
“When someone goes into a shop the only difference will be in the brand of the tyre. In this new era there are no bad tyres; only good ones and better ones,” he declared.
