Shantui has completed a 120-unit delivery to an undisclosed customer in Dubai, UAE.
The Chinese construction equipment manufacturer told PMV that the machines were ordered by a private contractor, and that they will be used primarily for infrastructure development.
The majority of machinery delivered by Shantui is tailored for concrete transportation and placement, according to Doug Slocum, media relations coordinator at Shandong Shantui Construction Machinery.
“Our largest market [outside China] was Russia, but after the rouble crisis, it went downhill,” he explained.
“In the Middle East, however, we’ve been getting a good reception, especially for the SD32D desert bulldozer and our concrete products.
“Through our partners in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, we’ve been sending lots of exports. Recently, we made a 120-unit export to Dubai. These machines were ordered by a private contractor and designated for infrastructure development. They were mainly concrete mixers and truck-mounted pumps,” he said.
Slocum revealed that the entire 120-unit shipment has now been delivered to the undisclosed UAE customer. He added that the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Algeria now rank amongst Shantui’s best-performing international markets.
