Siemens is showcasing its silent fire extinguishing technology at Intersec 2016 in Dubai, UAE.
The returning exhibitor is using the show as a platform to showcase its full range of building technology products, including its latest fire protection offerings for the commercial, residential, hospitality, education, and industrial sectors.
In particular, Siemens is unveiling its single-source design for data centres. As noise reduction is a critical factor in data centre functionality, the company’s unique technology deploys silent fire extinguishing.
This is accomplished through the use of a silent nozzle that helps to prevent collateral damage to nearby hard disks, in the event of fire within the data racks.
Koen Bogers, senior executive vice president, Building Technologies, Siemens Middle East and UAE, said: “Fire protection is a significant market for us in the Middle East. It is important that a tailored solution is engineered to suit each customer’s environment, whether it is a historic building, a data centre, a hotel or an industrial facility.
He added: “We are able to address unique and complex environmental requirements, and tie them into a smart, total building management solution for efficient control and monitoring.”
Outside of its fire protection offerings, Siemens will also be showcasing building management systems, including the Desigo CC platform. The system enables FM and building occupants to access real-time information across every aspect of their asset from a central location.
“Bringing together every element of a building that needs to be monitored or controlled – from plumbing and lighting to security cameras and access control – into one intelligent building management system has tremendous efficiency advantages,” said Bogers.
At Intersec 2016, Siemens will also showcase its Desigo Mass Notification system, which is utilised for multichannel communication management, as well as its Siemens Surveillance portfolio.
