Expo 2020 Dubai's Finland Pavilion, named Snow Cape – is been constructed by a consortium of five companies including Expomobilia, JKMM Architects, Factor Nova, Beyond Limits, and Five Currents – will be topped out in December 2019, with Finland's commissioner general for Expo 2020 Dubai, Severi Keinala, telling Construction Week that 80-85% of the materials used to build the pavilion would be recycled and reused.
Speaking to Construction Week in Finland, Keinala said that metal beams and steel sandwich panels used for the project would be reusable.
Keinala said that 43 Finnish companies – including Wartsila, Kone, Nokia, Collaprime, Granlund, Fortum, and Halton – would participate in Expo 2020 Dubai, which will open its doors on 20 October, 2020.
JKMM, which was also the architect of Finland’s pavilion at Shanghai Expo 2010, had been contracted to design a “simple and functional” structure for Finland at Expo 2020 Dubai, the commissioner general said.
The Finnish pavilion is located in the Mobility District of the 4.38km2 World Expo's site.
