Musanada, ITC, Adnoc, DPM start Shah Gas Field-Mezairaa link road
The $43m, two-package development is being built by all four entities near Etihad Rail on an area spanning 45ha
Construction work on a road linking Shah Gas Field and Abu Dhabi’s Mezairaa area has commenced, with Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) and Abu Dhabi General Services Company (Musanada) implementing the $43m (AED158.4m) development near Etihad Rail alongside Adnoc and Abu Dhabi Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities (DPM).
The project is located on an area spanning 45ha in Abu Dhabi, the UAE's state-held news agency, Wam, reported.
Package 1 involves the construction of a 13.3km link road between the sulphur plant and E90 – the Hamim-Mezairaa road – in addition to building tunnels, ducts, a 2.4m shoulder, and four underpasses for camels and gazelles.
As part of the project, another entrance to the oil and gas field concession area, which will serve the sulphur plant, will be built to reduce the distance by 35km for inbound motorists travelling from Mezairaa to the plant.
Under Package 2 of the project, a 14.5m overpass on the E90 road will be constructed, in addition to a one-lane ramp with two roundabouts on both sides of the overpass, which will link the first package to E90 in Al Nashash area.
