Abu Dhabi’s Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) and Abu Dhabi General Services Company (Musanada) have noted completion on the 3.5km-long Bani Yas-Al Heeliya Road, which has been constructed at a cost of $14.7m (AED54m) and is expected to serve students of Higher Colleges of Technology and improve traffic flow between Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

In a statement, ITC said that the road links Al Heeliya area to Al Moazaz and Al Shamkha South through Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Road (E311).

According to Musanada, more than 350 engineers, consultants, and workers were involved in the project.

One of the major construction challenges that Musanada and ITC had to contend with was to manage active traffic flow.

Musanada installed 78 traffic boards, 12 signage boards, and 121 LED lights as part of the project.
