Abu Dhabi-based developer Modon Properties has awarded the contract for a retail strip mall, featuring seven restaurants, 14 stores, and a supermarket within North Riyadh City, formerly known as South Shamkha, in Abu Dhabi, as well as completed a supermarket that will be operated by the UAE's Yusuff Ali M A-led Lulu International.

Located at Lot 23, the retail strip mall will cover 8,687m2 in North Riyadh City and is due to complete in August 2020, Modon said in a statement.

Riyadh City spans 80km2 and is expected to become one of the largest communities in Abu Dhabi when it is fully complete.

Commenting on the project, Ahmad Al Hosani, project director at Modon, said: “The completion of the supermarket and the awarding of the tender for the retail strip mall project highlight the steady, on-schedule progress being made at Riyadh City and our commitment to implementing the highest standards throughout our developments.

“Modon is working tirelessly to develop infrastructure and public facilities in Riyadh City, with the aim of building a modern, integrated community that is in line with the vision of our nation’s wise leadership.”
