IHG, Nouh Mohamad Nouh ink deal for Voco Jeddah Gate hotel
681-key hotel to be located in Jeddah Gate's Fayhaa area, close to King Abdulaziz International Airport
UK-headquartered hotel operator Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) has signed an agreement with Nouh Mohamad Nouh and Partners Limited for a Voco hotel within Emaar Middle East's Jeddah Gate in Saudi Arabia, which will be the hospitality company’s sixth hotel in Jeddah, located 10 minutes from King Abdulaziz International Airport and close to the main railroad linking Makkah and Madinah to Jeddah.
The 681-key hotel in Jeddah Gate's Fayhaa area will open in January 2021, and feature residential units, commercial areas, events facilities, meeting rooms, and recreational amenities.
IHG said in a statement that the collaboration marked its the third Voco signing in Saudi Arabia in nine months, and follows the recent announcement of the world's largest Voco hotel in Makkah.
Commenting on the collaboration, managing director of India, Middle East, and Africa at IHG, Pascal Gauvin, said: “We are pleased to collaborate with Nouh Mohamad Nouh and Partners Limited to further expand the presence of the Voco brand across Saudi Arabia.
"With the recent signings, across brands, we are solidifying our position as one of the largest hospitality players in the kingdom.”
IHG currently operates 92 hotels across seven brands in the Middle East, and has 38 projects in its development pipeline, all of which are due to open within the next three to five years.
