Abu Dhabi Ports has launched a 75,000m2 accommodation project in Area B of Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (Kizad) to provide housing and community amenities to 5,000 management and operational employees as part of its 50-year agreement with China’s Jiangsu Provincial Overseas Co-operation Investment Company (Jocic).

Area B is located within the China-UAE Industrial Capacity Cooperation Demonstration Zone in Kizad, established in conjunction with Jocic.

The residential project will include four staff quarters, one management dormitory, and two supporting rooms, as well as community infrastructure.

Due to be constructed over two phases, the first half of the project is due for completion by March 2020.

Commenting on the project launch, chief executive officer of Kizad, Samir Chaturvedi, said: “More than a quarter of the UAE’s Asian imports come from China.

"With such a stable and sustainable relationship with our Chinese partner, an investment in manpower is one of the most valuable decisions you can make.”
