Marriott's Assila hotel in Saudi Arabia to open by 2020
Hotelier inks deal with Assila Investments to launch property located close to the planned Jeddah Downtown development
Hotel chain Marriott International has signed an agreement with Assila Investments to open a property as part of its Luxury Collection brand for the first time in Saudi Arabia by 2020.
The hotel is located within 5km of the planned Jeddah Downtown development, a mixed-used project on Jeddah’s 500ha waterfront, which is set to launch in 2022.
Located in Jeddah, the Assila hotel will feature 210 guestrooms and 94 apartments, as well as multiple food and beverage venues, nine meeting rooms, and leisure facilities.
The move is part of the firm’s plans to “further diversify” its footprint in the kingdom, according to Marriott International’s president and managing director for the Middle East and Africa, Alex Kyriakidis.
