Kier wins $55m contract for Shamal's Nad Al Sheba project

Infrastructure contract covers earthworks, road networks, and pumping stations, among other critical elements

UK contractor Kier Group has been awarded the $54.5m (AED200m) infrastructure works – Package 2 contract for Shamal Development's project in Nad Al Sheba, Dubai, with the scope of its deal including earthworks, road networks, the installation of deep and shallow services, three pumping stations, street lighting, and 14km of drainage and sewerage rising mains that connect the plot to Dubai Municipality networks.

The Nad Al Sheba project site is located adjacent to a Meydan development that is bound by Al Ain road from the east, Al Khail road from the west, and Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed road from the south.

Commenting on the contract award, managing director of Kier Middle East, Sean Fenner, said: “We are very pleased to be awarded this project by Shamal Development which further demonstrates one of our core delivery capabilities in the infrastructure sector.”
