As part of its 27th anniversary, Australian education provider for the Middle East, the University of Wollongong Dubai (UOWD) is set to open its new campus — a fit-out contract for which was awarded to UK-headquartered contractor ISG earlier this month — in 2020 in Dubai Knowledge Park, with the six-storey structure set to feature eight laboratories.

The 1.9ha campus will comprise a range of classrooms that can accommodate up to 40 and 80 students, and an exhibition space.

The university said the move is part of its pursuit to enhance education platforms for students across the UAE.

Speaking about the campus, president of UOWD, Prof Moghamed Salem, said: "The University of Wollongong Dubai’s vision for the new campus builds on the concept of a first-class education system – a national priority of the UAE Vision 2021."

“To cater to the growing demand, we designed our new campus to offer the premier educational experience today’s students require to excel.”

The building's interiors have been designed by Woods Bagot and project management services are being delivered out by Abu Dhabi-based consultancy Alexander Mac.
