Eagle Hills Muscat, a partnership between UAE’s Eagle Hills Abu Dhabi and Oman’s Izz International, broke ground on The Mandarin Oriental Muscat project, which comprises two major waterfront developments, including The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Muscat and The Residences at Mandarin Oriental Muscat – the sultanate’s first branded residences.

The groundbreaking was held in the presence of HH Sayyid Mohammed bin Asaad Al Said; Mohammed Abdul Hameed Al Busaidi, chief executive officer of Izz International; Salman Sajid, chief financial officer of Eagle Hills; Osama Sabboubeh, chief project delivery officer of Development & Projects at Eagle Hills; and GR Ranganath, chief executive of L&T Oman, along with other senior executives.

A Construction Week report in September 2019 stated that Eagle Hills Muscat awarded contractor Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Oman the main contract for the overall construction on site, which includes a 150-key hotel, 156 branded residences, as well as 1,622m2 of retail areas.

Commenting on the start of construction, chief executive officer of Eagle Hills, Low Ping, said: “This is a very exciting day for us, as we celebrate this significant milestone in our journey to redefine authentic luxury and promote the concept of integrated hospitality and residential development in Oman and across Eagle Hills’ global portfolio.”
