SSH to work on 21.5km2 mixed-use project in Oman's Ghala Heights
The development will cover 146km2 of built-up area within a 21.48km2 site, once complete
The Omani Civil Service Employees Pension Fund has appointed engineering consultancy SSH to deliver design and construction supervision services for a new mixed-use development, which will cover 146km2 of built-up area within a 21.48km2 site once complete, in the Ghala Heights area of Muscat.
The project is within 5km from the Muscat International Airport, and will include a four-star deluxe hotel with 282 guest rooms and 58 serviced apartments; three luxury residential apartment blocks with 144 units located over a four-storey podium; three floors of office space, and a high-ground floor retail zone.
The development will also include three levels of parking, including 1,200 car parking spaces.
Enabling works began in January 2019, followed by main works in June 2019, which included a one-month mobilisation.
Commenting on the project, general manager – Oman at SSH, Omar Nuri said: “Through industry experience and quality service delivery, SSH will strive to make the Ghala Heights development an iconic destination of choice for both Omani nationals and expatriate communities, adding yet another landmark to Muscat’s city skyline.”
