Meeting focused on the Saada project in the Muharraq governorate, as well as the two storey Khalifa City Health Centre

Bahrain Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa’s Court followed up on the progress made on key developments and projects in each of the governorates, including housing, health, municipality and other projects related to the welfare of the kingdom’s citizens.

According to the Bahrain News Agency, Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf held the meeting at the Court of the Prime Minister to review the implementation of programmes that HRH Prince Khalifa had ordered to be completed at the earliest.

The meeting focused on progress on the Saada project in the Muharraq governorate, which consists of two stages. The first stage – the Western Side – is expected to be completed by the end of November 2019.

Consultants have been appointed for the second stage of the project – the eastern side – that includes a multi-storey car park, a popular market, a pedestrian bridge, sea coast, a marina for boats, a walkway, and a dedicated area for restaurants and cafes.

Progress on the two-storey Khalifa City Health Centre was also discussed, with implementation of the project expected to begin this month. The centre will include medical consultations and service units, a pharmacy, a radiology unit, a lab, an emergency unit, oral and dental health units, child and maternity care units, as well as a reception and health records unit.

The meeting also addressed the estbablishment of two halls in the Al-Dour area; and the construction works on the Multiple Sclerosis Centre (MS) in Muharraq – which is 24% complete and is expected to be entirely finalised by July 2021.

Projects discussed in the meeting included the Long Stay Care Unit, which is located within the Muharraq Medical Complex; the Muharraq Grand Park; the Busaiteen Waterfront Development Project; and the expansion of Al Jasra Mosque, among others.
