Construction begins on Expo 2020 Dubai's 27m-high Russia Pavilion
Russia's minister of trade and commerce, Denis Manturov says pavilion construction to complete in agreed time-frame
Ground has been broken on Expo 2020 Dubai’s “next level” Russia Pavilion, with the spherical structure set to cover an area spanning 4,562.7m2 and will be 27 metres-high, according to the minister of trade and commerce of the Russian Federation, Denis Manturov.
Set to be located with the World Expo’s Mobility District, Russian pavilion has been designed by architects Tchoban Speech and Simpateca Entertainment Group.
Speaking at the ground breaking ceremony, the executive director of Expo 2020 Dubai Bureau, Najeeb Mohammed Al-Ali said that in March 2018 Russian had inked the country’s participation contract to be a part of the Expo 2020 Dubai.
Meanwhile, Mantrov affirmed that construction work on the Russian pavilion will be completed in the “agreed time-frame”.
He added: “Most of the façade elements will be manufactured using the latest technologies many of which will be used for the first time in the construction of such engineering structures.”
The ground breaking ceremony was also attended by the UAE's minister of state for international cooperation and director-general of Expo 2020 Dubai, HE Reem Al Hashimy.
