Bahrain's MSDC discusses progress on the Manama Souq project

Members of the Manama Souq Development Committee (MSDC), which is chaired by chief executive officer of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), Nader Al Moayyed, discussed the latest developments of the Manama Souq project during the 7th MSDC meeting held at the Bab Al Bahrain Mall.

According to the Bahrain News Agency, the committee members also visited the project to inspect and review the progress on site, including renovations of the old buildings’ facades, and improved storefronts and signage at the Souq.

The committee comprises of representatives from the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, Urban Planning and Development Authority, Economic Development Board, Capital Municipality, Capital Secre-tariat Council, as well as Manama Souq traders.

Commenting on the progress at the site, Al Moayyed said: “We strive to work closely with all parties involved in the Manama Souq development project to ensure its timely completion. Manama Souq is a well-known touristic site and an attractive destination for many shoppers therefore it is essential to develop its infrastructure with an aim to attract Bahraini visitors and tourists from the GCC countries and beyond.”
