Work on $112m Warner Bros hotel 40% complete, eyes 2021 opening
Touted as the first Warner Bros-branded hotel in the world, The WB Abu Dhabi is being developed by Miral in Yas Island
Construction work on Abu Dhabi-based real estate developer Miral and Warner Bros’ $112m (AED411.4m) The WB Abu Dhabi — the world’s first Warner Bros-branded hotel — is 40% complete, with the eight-storey hospitality project scheduled to be opened in 2021.
Located adjacent to the Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi theme park in the emirate’s Yas Island, the design and concept of The WB Abu Dhabi takes inspiration from the Warner Bros brand.
Commenting on the development, chairman of Miral, HE Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, said; “We are excited to announce the development of the world’s first Warner Bros themed hotel, here on Yas Island.”
The eight-storied property will feature more than 250 rooms will include signature WB restaurants, a premier spa and fitness club, and a shaded rooftop pool.
Speaking about the hotel project, president of Warner Bros global brands and experiences, Pam Lifford, said: “Following the successful debut of Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi, we are thrilled to expand our presence in the region with the studio’s first-ever branded hotel. This new venture will pay tribute to Warner Bros’ legacy of rich entertainment, offering fans a unique way to experience their favorite brands and characters.”
The WB Abu Dhabi, which is under license from Warner Bros Consumer Products, will also include a child-friendly pool, indoor and outdoor Kid’s Club options, a large ballroom, meeting rooms, and a fully-equipped fitness center, and beauty parlor.
