Ground broken on Abu Dhabi's Abu Samrah Primary Health Clinic
Other clinics to come up in Al Wathba, Shakhbout City, Umm Ghaffa, Al Dhahra, Al Salamat in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain
Ground has broken on the Abu Samrah Primary Health Clinic — one of six primary healthcare clinics set to take shape in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain — that will be designed, built, and operated by Australian healthcare specialist Aspen Medical, with construction on the healthcare facility being carried out under a contract with Abu Dhabi’s Department of Health (DoH).
According to the UAE’s state-held news agency, Wam, the Abu Samrah Primary Health Clinic is scheduled for completion in 2020, while other clinics will be constructed in Al Wathba, Shakhbout City, Umm Ghaffa, Al Dhahra, and Al Salamat.
The DoH Abu Dhabi inked an agreement with Aspen Medical, following a public tendering process, with DoH having identified areas of under-provision through its Capacity Masterplan.
The under-secretary of the DoH Abu Dhabi, Mohamed Hamad Al Hameli, said: "This project emphasises the commitment of the DoH to ensuring world-class healthcare services to all residents across the UAE, taking into consideration our strategic plan and the requirement of primary medical care across the emirate.
“This approach will identify strategic investment opportunities and attract key global players in the healthcare industry, which we are certain will add great value to Abu Dhabi’s healthcare sector and support its investment prospects."
