Oman's Galfar wins LOI for $5.7m contract to construct recharge dams
The company said in a stock market filing, it will provide all other details about the contract later in a supplementary disclosure
Muscat Securities Market-listed (MSM) Galfar Engineering and Contracting has revealed that it has received a letter of intent (LOI) for a contract worth $5.7m (OMR2.2M) for the construction of recharge dams.
In a stock market missive the company made the announcement without revealing further details about the firm it received the LOI from or the scope of work for the project.
Galfar Engineering and Contracting said in the missive, undersigned by the firm’s chief executive officer, Dr. Hans Erlings: “We will provide all other details later on in a supplementary disclosure upon satisfying the conditions and any other requirements.”
Last week the company had won a $75.1m (OMR28.9m) electromechanical erection contract for a steel pellet plant in Sohar.
Previously it has also secured a $2.3m (OMR 885,503.5) civil works contract for a tank foundation project under sub-package A of the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) Package 3 Offsite Facilities at the $7bn (OMR2.69bn) Duqm Refinery.
As part of the contract, Galfar will provide civil works related to tank foundation for four jet fuel A-1 tanks including 842-T-204, 842-T-202, 842-T-203, and 842-T-204 at Duqm Refinery, which is being developed through a partnership between Oman Oil Co and Kuwait Petroleum International.
