Musanada, Al Dhafra Municipality begin $65m roads, infra project

Project covers construction of internal roads, sanitation, stormwater, lighting network, parking spaces, sidewalks

Construction has begun on the $65.3m (AED240m) internal roads and infrastructure project at the Al Yeef District in Liwa that covers an area spanning 74.9ha, with the Abu Dhabi General Services Company (Musanada) and the Al Dhafra Region Municipality working on the project.

Scope of the project covers construction of main and secondary internal roads along with other infrastructure services such as sanitation, stormwater, potable water, lighting of internal roads and irrigation networks, pedestrian sidewalks, as well as parking bays.

Additionally, a new roundabout at the A-15 internal exit to the area in both directions towards the underpass will also be constructed, which will allow traffic to access the E45 highway.

Upon completion the project will serve 231 new residential plots, two mosques, 10 parks and landscaping spaces that also covers the preparation of infrastructure, road network, and utility corridors.

The project is anticipated to be handed over in August 2021, as per the agreed delivery plan under a project term of 24 months.

According to the Al Dhafra Municipality the project comes in line with President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s vision that aims to provide high-quality infrastructure that is developed in accordance with the highest international standards.

Musanada said that it delivers all roads and infrastructure projects in accordance with international standards and aims to achieve the objectives of the Abu Dhabi Plan to deliver sustainable infrastructure.

The firm will implement best practices to preserving natural resources, protect the environment, and reduce energy consumption by following eco-sustainability requirements.
